Kanesville Elementary School Community Council Minutes

February 12th, 2024

Attendance: Casey Chipp, Sarah Lyons, Megan Smith, Abby Byrum, Monica Thoma, Kristi Herzog (teacher), Mike Ivey (teacher), Chance Adams (LEA)

Agenda Items:

Motion to approve by Megan, seconded by Abby Byrum; approved by all.

  1. Review of Timeline - Casey Chipp

February - Discuss Action Steps and Expenditures 

March - Approval of Final Plan

  1. Review of Due Dates - Casey Chipp

Jan. 17 - Final Report 22-23 Opens, Due Feb. 9

Final Report 22-23 reviewed

March 8 - Upcoming Plan Due to District

March 12 - Plans Reviewed by District

March 18 - Corrected Plan Due

April 12 - Plans approved by the district board and sent to the state. 

  1. Review of Current Plan - Mr. Adams
  • Currently reviewing MOY Data
  • Budget Update

Budget is looking good. Mr. Adams is hoping to keep the max of 10% carryover to give a cushion for next year as the budget will be less because of the new school.

  1. Action steps for next year’s plan - Mr. Adams
  • Plan Draft is on separate document with action steps

Draft reviewed; decided that reading is a critical need for the school.

  1. Plan Next Agenda - Mr. Adams
  • Present Final plan for approval

Abby motioned to approve; Megan seconded; approved by all.
